Eddie Johnson, Obafemi Martins, and Mario Martinez were called up by their respective national clubs to play in the World Cup qualifier matches that are coming up this month.
While I don’t know that much about soccer, I do know that when your favorite club’s players are getting called up to play for their national club…it tends to mean a good thing for the talent level of your favorite club. It definitely is a confidence booster (for the fans) knowing that the Sounders are accumulating talent that is good enough to compete in the World’s premier soccer tournament.
As for the players, this is the chance of a life time and they will probably end up enjoying it. It is going to be fun to watch the qualifiers this upcoming month. Good luck to those guys!
