College Football Week 8 Picks

We have a lot of great matchups this week for college football.  Let’s start with an SEC clash.

#22 Florida at #14 Missouri

(22) Florida

(4-2, 3-1 SEC)

(14) Missouri

(6-0, 2-0 SEC)

Missouri may have lost quarterback James Franklin for the entire season, but they have the hot hand right now with that win over Georgia last week.  This will be a hard fought match, but expect for the Tigers to prevail especially considering how Florida has struggled on the road against elite competition.

My Pick:  #14 Missouri

#9 UCLA at #13 Stanford

(9) UCLA

(5-0, 2-0 Pac-12)

(13) Stanford

(5-1, 3-1 Pac-12)

Stanford may have had their national title hopes blow up in their face against Utah last week, but they should rebound at home against UCLA.  Considering the 12 game home winning streak the Cardinal have, it would behoove you not to pick against them.

My Pick:  #13 Stanford

#24 Auburn at #7 Texas A&M

(24) Auburn

(5-1, 2-1 SEC)

(7) Texas A&M

(5-1, 2-1 SEC)

As great as Auburn has been this season they won’t be the second team from Alabama to hand Johnny Football a loss.  Their offense is just too good at home, and while the game may be close, don’t expect Johnny to sweat too much.

My Pick:  #7 Texas A&M

#5 Florida State at #3 Clemson

(5) Florida State

(5-0, 3-0 ACC)

(3) Clemson

(6-0, 4-0 ACC)

This could be even better than the opening contest between Clemson and Georgia at the start of the college football season.  Both sides have extremely explosive offenses with Florida State placing 4th and Clemson placing 14th respectively in offensive yards gained.  I still think back to that huge win Clemson had at home against the Bulldogs and it just doesn’t seem that Florida State can compete against the energy of a Death Valley crowd.  We’ll see, but expect this one to be a shootout with a Tiger win attached.

My Pick:  #3 Clemson.

My Record:  22-19

Stay classy everyone
