College Football Picks Week 13

Well we are winding down to the final weeks of college football, and the road to the crystal football is becoming more…well crystal clear (sorry I’m bad at puns).  Hopefully my Cougars get their 6th win to become bowl-eligible and hopefully they also obtain their first bowl appearance since 2003.  Setting that aside though there are still a lot of great games to play.  Let’s get this party started.

#12 Texas A&M at #22 LSU

(12) Texas A&M

(8-2, 4-2 SEC)

(22) LSU

(7-3, 3-3 SEC)

While LSU did get the win against Johnny Football & Co. last year, LSU has lost a lot of talent to the NFL.  Manziel has been a juggernaut and he has been putting up a lot of yards and points this season.  While LSU does have a huge home-field advantage in Death Valley I’ve got to give the edge to A&M.  Johnny Football has only lost twice this season, and he’s not going to lose a third time.

My Pick:  #12 Texas A&M

#19 Wisconsin at #25 Minnesota

(19) Wisconsin

(8-2, 5-1 Big Ten)

(25) Minnesota

(8-2, 4-2 Big Ten)

Minnesota is having a great year, don’t get me wrong, but looking at the numbers Wisconsin is putting up I don’t think that the Golden Gophers will be able to keep up.  I could be wrong though, but it is Minnesota too…

My Pick:  #19 Wisconsin

#17 Arizona State at #14 UCLA

(17) Arizona State

(8-2, 6-1 Pac-12)

(14) UCLA

(8-2, 5-2 Pac-12)

Much to the dismay of one of our editors here at Sports with Neil, I’ve got to give the Bruins the edge here.  Considering how their only losses were to Stanford and Oregon I’d say that this is our future Pac-12 South champion.  I think this Myles Jack guy the Bruins have on their roster is for real.

My Pick:  #14 UCLA

#8 Missouri at #24 Ole Miss

(8) Missouri

(9-1, 5-1 SEC)

(24) Ole Miss

(7-3, 3-3 SEC)

I know I’m going to use the same argument I made for the Wisconsin/Minnesota game, but Missouri just has too much talent to be stopped by this Ole Miss team.  If it wasn’t for a flubbed field goal against South Carolina this team might be ranked as high as #2 in the BCS standings.  We’ll see if they can beat Alabama, but now is not the appropriate time to ask that question.  The better question to ask is how much better this Missouri team is now that quarterback James Franklin is returning from injury.

My Pick:  #8 Missouri

#4 Baylor at #10 Oklahoma State

(4) Baylor

(9-0, 6-0 Big 12)

(10) Oklahoma State

(9-1, 6-1 Big 12)

Here is our game of the week.  This game is for the Big 12.  If the Cowboys win this game all they need to do is win out in order to win the Big 12.  Baylor on the other hand would have an outside shot at the national title game if they win.  I give Oklahoma State a chance in this one, but I don’t think that they will be able to keep up with Baylor’s offense.  The Bears passing offense is looking absolutely brilliant, and I think that they will continue to show the College Football world just why they are this good.

My Pick:  #4 Baylor

My Record:  32-25

Stay classy everyone, and GO COUGS!

HOHOHO!
