The Mariners are 7-3 on the season in Cactus League play. However, all three of those losses have been to teams in the state of Ohio. The Mariners thus far are 0-2 against the Cleveland Indians in Spring Training, and 1-1 against the Cincinnati Reds.
Despite the 10-9 loss Seattle suffered to the Reds today, they are still off to a good start. They sit only 1 1/2 games behind the 8-1 Indians for the #1 spot in the Cactus League.
Spring won’t mean much come fall, and we need to set some realistic goals for the Mariners this season. I’m still going with the M’s finishing the season with at least a .500 record, but that could change depending on how this season plays out.
I listened to 710 ESPN Seattle this afternoon, and it seems that they agree with my viewpoint. Get a solid season in this year, then build off of this year and maybe make a playoff push in 2015.
I’m still really jacked for opening day on March 31st. The Mariners play the rival Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Stay Classy Everyone!
