College Basketball Post #1: Who can beat Kentucky

The one question that has been on the mind of a lot of analysts over the course of this season is who can beat the undefeated 13-0 Kentucky Wildcats.

The #1 Wildcats survived their latest test, beating #4 Louisville 58-50.  Kentucky over the course of the 2014-2015 season has been blowing their competition out of the water, examples being 72-40 victories over #5 Kansas at the time and a 83-44 victory over UCLA that saw the Wildcats race out to an early 24-0 start.  In fact that recent victory over Louisville was the only one where Kentucky has won by only single digits.

Are these kids machines or are they simply just way outclassing their competition.  SEC conference play starts January 6th against Ole Miss so an undefeated season isn’t a done deal, but it certainly isn’t out of the question.

Could John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats be staring down the barrel of an undefeated season?!

The closest competition for the Wildcats appears to be #2 Duke, who did earn a first place vote in the Coaches poll.  I work with a guy at UPS who is a big Duke fan and he admits that while Kentucky is good, the Blue Devils will be more than ready for the Wildcats should they play them in the Final Four or the Championship game in March.

Is the season going to be viewed at looking at two different groups of teams, Kentucky and everyone else, or will someone knock them off.  Let’s find out.  March can be crazy.

Stay Classy Everyone, and Happy New Year.  I will be posting a review of the New Years Six bowls, and one of the NFL Wild Card action sometime in the near future.
