Victor and I got back together to discuss the Cougars impressive, come from behind, victory over the (at the time) No. 18 UCLA Bruins in the Rose Bowl in the latest edition of the Sports with Neil podcast.
The Cougars are sitting at No. 23 in the coaches poll and No. 24 in the AP poll.
While the Cougars dominated the first half of the podcast, we also discussed Ronda Rousey’s shocking loss on Saturday night. Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round thanks to a vicious kick to the head, ending the match and Rousey’s insane winning streak.
We also took some time to reflect on the struggles of the Seahawks offensive line and how the impact its had on Marshawn Lynch’s declining numbers. Beast Mode is currently averaging 3.6 yards per carry and he’s struggled to get into open space throughout the season — that’s mostly because the offensive line has been a pile.
Meanwhile the Arizona offense has been throwing the ball all over the place as Larry Fitzgerald and Carson Palmer seem to be determined to prove that age is nothing but a number. Palmer is averaging 9.8 yards per attempt, and is completing 65% of his passes. Fitzgerald has been one of Palmer’s favorite targets this season, and it’s a dangerous duo that will pose a major problem for the Seahawks secondary throughout the Sunday night contest.
Seattle needs this win to keep its playoff hopes alive, Arizona needs this win to prove that it is the class of the NFC West.
