Last week I went 9-7 in my NFL football picks. Last Thursday was a matchup between the two Super Bowl representatives last year which the Broncos won 21-20 over the Panthers. Tonight will be a renewed AFC East rivalry game between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills.

How the Jets Win: Balance is key here. Ryan Fitzpatrick leads a great passing attack, and may be the best quarterback the Jets have had in a while. New running back Matt Forte also has paid dividends thus far, gaining over 150 scrimmage yards. If it wasn’t for a late field goal by the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jets would be coming off of an upset victory instead of a crushing defeat. To win tonight they need to use that confidence and momentum.
How the Bills Win: Ground and pound, and play good defense. The Bills hold the longest playoff drought in North American (the Seattle Mariners are second), and if second year Head Coach Rex Ryan is hoping to get this bunch to the playoffs they need to follow that formula. Buffalo has some great fans too, so they also need to use the crowd to their advantage. A snowstorm would be nice as well.
The Bottom Line: I think the Jets win this one. They have the more complete offense, and the Bills more or less can be a little too one-dimensional. Rex Ryan will definitely have a lot of explaining to do after leading the Bills to an 0-2 start.
