Dolphins/Bengals Preview

I will be previewing tonight’s matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals.  The Dolphins picked up their first win of the season with an overtime victory last week over the Cleveland Browns, while the Bengals suffered a tough loss to the Denver Broncos.  Let’s begin.

5:25 PM PT NFL CIN -8.0

(1-2, 0-2 away)

(1-2, 0-1 Home)

How Miami Wins:  Get the ball to Jarvis Landry, get another 300-yard game from Ryan Tannehill, and have your defense take over.  Tannehill unfortunately would have been amazing in another era, but quarterbacks who can throw for over 300 yards today are a dime a dozen.  The Dolphins brought Ndamukong Suh  in last year to also help shore up their defense.  They need for him to get after Andy Dalton in order to get the upset.

How Cincinnati Wins:  Andy Dalton needs to step up.  He has thrown only two passing touchdowns on the season and his Bengals just as easily could be 0-3 if they missed a field goal against the Jets in Week 1.  Do what’s worked before.  Throw it deep to A.J. Green, hand the ball off to Jeremy Hill and Giovanni Bernard, and take what the defense gives you.  Otherwise the “Red Rifle” might as well be a “Red Ryder BB Gun”.

The Bottom Line:  Cincinnati is not falling to 1-3 against the Dolphins, especially at home.  They take care of business and get back in the AFC North race against Baltimore and Pittsburgh.  Ryan Tannehill has yet to impress me this young season, and he won’t do so tonight.

I am 28-20 so far this year.  Packers and Eagles both have byes.  Here are the rest of the picks besides the Sunday Night and Monday Night games.

Cardinals over Rams

Cowboys over 49ers
