Cardinals/49ers Thursday Night Preview

I will probably not be watching football this Thursday Night.  With that being said I still need to preview this game.

5:25 PM PT CBS ARI -3.5

Cardinals

(1-3, 0-1 away)

1-3

49ers

(1-3, 1-1 Home)

How Arizona Wins:  Carson Palmer is out as quarterback for the Cardinals today, so Arizona need to find another solution.  That’s running the ball with David Johnson.  I’m surprised he only has 64 carries on the year considering how good and versatile he is at the running back position.  Also getting an open Larry Fitzgerald should also pay major dividends as well.

How San Francisco Wins:  Give the ball to Carlos Hyde, and play mistake free football with Blaine Gabbert.  He’s not particularly sexy at quarterback, but he does just enough where he can get the job done.  If he plays the way he did in the first half against the Cowboys and the defense can make some stops, they’ll have a chance in this one.

The Bottom Line:  This is a down year for Arizona, but they have too many weapons and I don’t think the Niners can keep up.  This should be a confidence booster for Arizona, but don’t look for them to do anything more this season.  They may not be as good as people thought they were.

Here is the rest of the Week 5 slate!

Patriots over Browns

Eagles over Lions

Titans over Dolphins

Colts over Bears

Ravens over Redskins

Vikings over Texans

Broncos over Falcons

Steelers over Jets

Cowboys over Bengals

Rams over Bills

Raiders over Chargers

As usual I will have the Sunday and Monday Night games later this week.  The Seahawks, Jaguars, Saints, and Chiefs all have byes.  I’m 36-27 so far this year, have a great Thursday 🙂
