Washington State Cougars’ mascot Butch T. Cougar was in Seattle for the Mariners 3-2 victory over the New York Mets. That means that he got to spend over three hours hanging around with his Westside buddy, the Mariner Moose.

Butch was in Seattle for Cougar day at Safeco Field, which saw the M’s giving away some sick t-shirts. The two mascots seemed to enjoy each other’s company in the sunny confines of the Safe.

As for the game, Yovani Gallardo outdueled Jacob DeGrom through 5.2 innings and left the game with a 3-1 lead. Seattle’s bullpen did the best it could to blow the two run lead, but Edwin Diaz held on for his 19th save of the season. The Mariners are back to one game below .500 with a chance to get back to even on the season with a victory on Sunday.
