WSU Football recap: Cougs whoop Wyoming, eye San Jose State

We’re trying to start a new feature here on the BS Show, having Brent Schwartz in to recap the week that was and help look forward to WSU’s next game. We’ll try to release one for each game, schedule allowing, so if you like what you hear, you can expect more of this!

We start the show by recapping WSU’s decisive victory over Wyoming. It may not have been as much of a blowout as the score indicated, but the Cougs took care of business against a solid non-conference opponent. We take a look at a couple unsung heroes from the game, and praise the Cougs for their discipline in key moments.

Brent tells us what he learned from this game, focusing primarily on new quarterback Gardner Minshew, true freshman running back Max Borghi, and Mike Leach’s demeanor and coaching style.

Breaking away from WSU, we take a look at how the rest of the Pac-12 fared this weekend, and what we learned about the conference based on week one’s results. If you’re an Arizona fan, you may want to skip this part. But if you’re an Arizona fan, it would be weird for you to be listening to this.

Perhaps riding the high of victory, we discuss why Mike Leach and the Cougs don’t get more respect and benefit of the doubt from the media during times of transition, given his history at Texas Tech and recent success at WSU.

Finally, we finish by looking ahead to San Jose State. Spoiler: they are not very good, and the Cougs should roll them. You never know in football, but we feel very good about this one. Thanks for listening, and go Cougs!
