Brett’s leaving for Europe tomorrow afternoon, so Brent came into the BS Show Studios to watch the game and podcast immediately after the game concluded. So the takes are hotter, and the opinions are less reasonable. Enjoy!
The Cougars looked fairly dominant against Oregon State outside of a few key mistakes that kept Oregon State in the game–Gardner Minshew threw for over 400 yards and five touchdowns, Tay Martin and Easop Winston had a dominant showing in the receiving game, and Max Borghi once again had the “put them away” score. Never in doubt, guys.
We’re at the halfway point in the season, so we offer our general thoughts on the state of the team and whether they’ve met expectations or not. The reviews are fairly positive with the Cougars just one win away from bowl eligibility, but there are plenty of areas for the Cougs to improve if they want to make this a truly special season.
Looking around the conference, things became even more muddled with Stanford losing big to Utah, Arizona State and Colorado looking fairly evenly matched, UW squeaking out an ugly win against UCLA, and a previously horrible looking Arizona team taking down a previously decent looking California team. So who is the class of the conference? We look at UW and Oregon, as they seem like the only two competitors at this point in time for that crown.
Speaking of Oregon, they’re WSU’s next opponent. We take a look at their game against UW during WSU’s bye week, and how that will or will not impact WSU’s game against them in two weeks. We also gave score predictions, which we reserve the right to change given the fact that a game will happen during the bye week. Enjoy the bye week, and Go Cougs!
