The Seattle Mariners have dealt James Paxton to the New York Yankees for a handful of exciting prospects.
This deal shouldn’t be too big a surprise as the M’s have been rumored to be interested in dealing their ace for sometime now.
It signals that Seattle is getting ready to enter a full rebuild, and stockpiling the farm system with as many toosly prospects as possible is the wise thing to do. Even if it means trading the Big Maple.
As for New York, the Yankees are looking to stockpile as much starting pitching talent as possible. Acquiring Paxton is a big first step for New York to fix their leaky starting rotation.
