The BS Show – WSU football: Northern Colorado crushed; humiliate Houston

It’s a short week, so Brent joined the show late Thursday night to make sure we got you all your weekly dose of Cougar BS!

Last week’s game was meh. We barely talk about it, beyond acknowledging the shaky defense. We did talk about what we learned from it, featuring the surprisingly consistent play of Brandon Arconado, the fact that Anthony Gordon isn’t perfect, and that somehow, Travion Brown needs to get more snaps.

WSU legend, Gardner Minshew II, made his NFL debut last Sunday, and is already setting records. We know, we’re a college show, but we had to give Gardner some love after his excellent first go at it in the NFL.

We take a look around the Pac-12, where there really just wasn’t anything all that impressive to write home about. That’s not to say it was all boring–we talk about USC’s surprise mauling of Stanford, and what it might mean for the conference. Also, why does Oregon sometimes look like the best team in the country, and other times Justin Herbert throws last-second Hail Marys 10 yards past the back of the end zone?

Finally, we look ahead to this week’s game, against the first team that will really show how good the Cougs can be. Houston is coached by Leach disciple Dana Holgorsen, and runs a variation of the air raid. Like WSU, they’ve been high on offense and short on defense. If WSU has a strong showing in this one, it might be a special year. If they don’t…then it’s all about finding a path to six wins. There’s a lot on the line in tonight’s game, and we’re here to tell you what to think about it. Trust us, we might be right. Until next time…

Go Cougs! (And GTFO of here with this “Coogs” nonsense, Houston)
