In case you live under a rock, the Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday. This is a move that Victor and I have been talking about for months on the podcast; but to actually have it happen is an emotional gut punch I did not need.
What hurt even worse was that the Hawks cut Bobby Wagner a few hours later and that means that there is zero members of the Super Bowl championship squad left.
The franchise has been run into the ground and a full rebuild is what’s needed. But we’ll see what happens since head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider are still at the helm. It certainly sounds like Seattle is going to try to win with Shelby Harris, Noah Fant, and whatever quarterback they pick up — the rumors about interest in Deshaun Watson are terrifying, to say the least.
We will see what happens as the Seahawks gear up for their first season without Wilson at the helm since Tarvaris Jackson led the squad to a 7-9 record in 2011.
